Blackberries are a summertime staple that are so versatile they can be added into almost any delicious recipe. Find blackberry desserts, drinks, popsicles, jams, jelly, and healthy snacks to indulge in all year!
Not many tastes say “the end of summer deliciousness” to me quite like blackberries! I couldn’t help but to make a tantalizing blackberry recipe roundup for you now that August is upon us and blackberries are in full swing.
I specifically recall two years ago when my family moved over 1,000 miles to the Pacific Northwest. We drove up the coast and one night stayed in Salem, Oregon. We were all absolutely astounded that the freeway, the parking lots, EVERYWHERE was covered in blackberry bushes! Begging to be picked and savored. The fact that free food was growing on the side of the freeway blew my mind. Imagine our delight when we toured our soon to be apartment in Washington and looked over the balcony to see endless 10′ tall blackberry bushes.
CLEARLY I’m not from here. I’m from the beaches of Southern California, who chose to relocate for a family adventure. Berries are so common throughout most of the world in summertime. There are seemingly endless varieties and each type is specific to the areas you are in and the week of summer it is.
I have ultimately enjoyed three summers worth of blackberries. Picking them every day, learning new recipes to try with them. Or simply snacking on them straight off the prickly bushes. My summers are now filled with berries. The blackberries are my favorite though. I fill the end of summer with blackberry lemonade, blackberry popsicles, blackberry jam and jelly, and I put them in my yogurt, smoothies, and cereals daily. Last year we gathered so many that they lasted us until February!
Blackberries now officially rock my socks off.
So now that they are finally EVERYWHERE again I couldn’t help but to create an amazing blackberry recipe roundup for you! Here are some great recipes from awesome influencers all over the web for you to create your own delicious deserts and snacks for the months to come!
