What Is Detox?
It doesn’t have to mean that your body is toxic or in a state of illness if you are thinking about detox drinks. (Although if that IS the case you will benefit from incorporating them even more!) Detoxifying the body every day is critical to in essence, wash away all the toxins (no matter how little) you consume or encounter on a daily basis.
I know if I don’t end my night and begin my day with a few detox drinks I quickly feel the effects. There are so many delicious, cheap, and simple ways to add a little bit of detoxifying into your daily routine.
How To Beat Holiday Bloat.
The holidays are upon us and there is never more temptation to overindulge in delicious foods, drinks, and desserts. I am in no way every going to say, “Nope don’t have that dessert,” “You can’t have that drink!” or “Having seconds is off the table!”
Instead it is important to apply moderation, happiness, and health into your daily goals. Treat yourself to feeling good every day. 7 Detox Drinks That Will Make Every Day Better
The Master Cleanse originally came about as a full body detox and fasting diet. If you are looking to do a really deep hardcore detox I actually REALLY recommend it. I’ve had amazing results cleansing my body in this manner. But, if you’re just looking for a very effective detoxifying drink to start or end your day with, utilizing the powerful ingredients every day is STILL very beneficial!
Into a cup of warm or cold water (I prefer cold but everybody is different so definitely try it both ways) squeeze half of a lemon, add 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper, and two slices of ginger. I love this drink so much I do not end any day without an enormous cup full. I don’t always include the ginger though. If the taste is too harsh sweeten with Raw and Unfiltered Honey.
Not all cayenne is created equal and have different strengths so begin sampling this drink with a very small amount. Your tolerance will grow and you can increase the amount of cayenne accordingly.
If you indulged in a drink or two during the day I definitely recommend ending your day with this.
It will help you beat the bloat immensely by the morning.
2. Green Tea with Ginger
Green tea is a wonderful healthy drink to help slim the waistline and detox every day. When paired with ginger (fresh ideally but powdered compliments the taste wonderfully as well) green tea takes on a delicious new form.
This drink aids in digestion, bloat, and nausea to really pack a wonderful punch to aid your detox throughout the day. If the flavor is too bitter for your liking sweeten with Raw and Unfiltered Honey or Pure Stevia Extract.
3. Infused Water
Sometimes drinking enough water can be tough. But it is so important being that you are mostly composed of water! To create a refreshing detox drink for any time of day fill a pitcher with water, lemon slices, and cucumber slices and keep it in the fridge.
Infused water is refreshing, detoxifying and so yummy! If I have them on hand I also smash or slice up a few berries for an additional antioxidant boost and toss them in as well. There are no more excuses for not drinking your water when you have an enticing mix like this sitting in the fridge!
4. Clean Eating Detox Hot Cocoa
It being cold and December I HAD to include my favorite winter drink… hot chocolate! But not the sugar filled little packets we all think of. You can easily create a mouth watering and detoxifying hot cocoa in minutes at home!
Warm 1 1/2 cups of almond milk and add in 1 tbsp. baking cocoa, 2 Stevia Packets or Pure Stevia Extract to your liking (it’s really strong so add a litte at a time!), and 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract. Finish with a dash or two of cinnamon which cleanses, detoxifies, and is super delicious and you have created the most decadent antioxidant rich detox drink around! This is one reason I can’t wait for cool weather. My super filling and beyond tasty hot cocoa!
I absolutely love the effects of drinks Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar every day. I am partial to Bragg’s but recently found a new slightly cheaper alternative in Great Value’s Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother available at Walmart. Unfiltered apple cider vinegar is hugely different than the cheap tangy alternative that is not unfiltered and does not contain “the mother.” (The mother is that sediment of healthy live bacteria that you will see floating in the bottle of apple cider vinegar or in kombucha or ginger bug.)
The health benefits of consuming apple cider vinegar daily are unmatched. It is loaded with probiotics that according to Dr. Axe as well as many other health officials helps to:
- regulate blood sugar
- aid weight loss
- lower cholesterol
- reduce blood pressure
- aid acid reflux
- aid gut health
- improve skin health
- and many many more!
In my personal experience the most beneficial effect of consuming Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar daily is keeping chronic joint pain and inflammation at bay. I suffer from chronic daily joint pain due to a multisystemic disease and Bragg’s Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar is my go to!
I might be a bit of a freak and adore the sharp tangy taste. But if you just can’t stomach 1 tsp twice daily it’s really good mixed into detox drink #1 on this list too!

7. Grapefruit Ginger Detox
Sore muscles? Aches and pains? I have the perfect delicious detox drink for you! This powerful drink detoxifies sore muscles and the quinine from the grapefruit peels relieves aches!
Cut up 2 grapefruit and add 1 tbsp. of fresh cut ginger root to a large pot of purified water. Boil covered for 1 hour and add a couple shakes of cayenne pepper. (You can even save the peels for a second and third boil! Pair this drink with my new morning yoga routine to alleviate sore muscles and tightness and you’ll feel 100% in no time!)
