If you are looking for a sweet and fancy holiday drink, try out this Pink Red Velvet Hot Chocolate. It is a perfect choice to make for a Valentine’s Day party and even festive enough to enjoy for a cool Easter morning or as a sweet holiday treat in winter.

What is In Pink Hot Chocolate?

So technically this recipe is still hot chocolate… it’s just hot white chocolate. So if you love white chocolate you’re going to love this recipe!

What is fun about making hot cocoa with white chocolate is that you can make it any color you want for any holiday!

This pink “red velvet” hot chocolate is perfect to serve your family on Valentine’s Day! It’s even festive enough to be perfect for a cool Easter morning after egg hunting or spreading all the way to the rest of the holidays!

But really I had Valentine’s Day in mind with this sweet recipe. If you try to avoid food coloring, you can get the same result with substituting the food coloring with a pinch of beet root powder.

It does change the flavor a smidge, but you don’t need much and get a really awesome purplish-pink color. Because this recipe is so sweet you don’t taste it too much, just use it sparingly.

How to Make Pink Red Velvet Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

1 cup milk
1 tbsp white chocolate chips
1 tsp sugar
Red food colouring (2-3 drops) (OR a pinch of beet root powder)
Whipped cream
Red and pink sprinkles

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it starts to steam. Do not let it boil.

2. Add the white chocolate chips to the saucepan and stir until they are completely melted and incorporated into the milk.

3. Stir in the sugar until it dissolves completely.

4. Add 2-3 drops of red food coloring (or a pinch of beet root powder) to the saucepan and stir well to evenly distribute the color. Add more drops if desired for a deeper red color.

5. Continue heating the mixture for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it is hot and well combined.

6. Remove the saucepan from heat and pour the red velvet hot chocolate into mugs.

7. Top each mug with a generous dollop of whipped cream.

8. Sprinkle red and pink sprinkles over the whipped cream for added decoration.

9. Serve immediately and enjoy the delicious and festive Pink Hot Chocolate!
