The holidays can get crazy busy, so I’m all about quick and easy recipes that still impress. This easy holiday bacon cheese ball recipe is a total lifesaver! It takes just a few minutes to whip up, but it’s always a huge hit at parties. Plus, with crispy bacon, creamy cheese, and a little kick of flavor, you can’t go wrong. Whether you’re hosting or need something fast to bring to a gathering, this recipe is a must during the holidays.

My Family Tradition: Easy Holiday Bacon Cheeseball

Every year, without fail, both sides of my family start asking, “Are you bringing the bacon cheese ball?” It’s become such a staple at our Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings that it just wouldn’t feel like the holidays without it!

Everyone loves it—there’s something about that mix of smoky bacon, creamy cheeses, and that perfect blend of seasonings that gets people coming back for seconds and beyond.

Basically they keep coming back until there are only bacon and pecan crumbles where the holiday cheeseball once stood.

Even the kids, who sometimes aren’t too sure about the pecan and bacon crust, go straight for the creamy inside with their crackers. They devour it!

Honestly, it’s one of those dishes that pleases everyone, and I love that it’s so easy to make, especially with everything else going on during the holidays. It’s become a tradition, and I kind of love that this cheese ball is part of our holiday memories now!

This Recipe is Pretty Healthy

Plus it’s way healthier than the cheeseballs you can pick up premade in the stores. I know the holidays can be A LOT and sometimes ease and quickness is important.

BUT in the past couple years when I look at the ingredients (even of old family faves) lists on foods I’m taken aback. Even simple things like gravy and cranberry sauce that used to include just a few ingredients are littered with crap I can’t even pronounce.

Why? I dunno exactly but it sure doesn’t make me want to feed it to my family! So I’ve learned how to make a bunch of holiday staple items quickly at home from scratch and at this point really enjoy making things like homemade eggnog and DIY pumpkin spice coffee creamer.

So while sure this recipe has got a lot of fat in it, it is HEALTHY fat, perfect for Keto or low carb lovers and comes from natural sources.

How to Make the Best Easy Holiday Cheeseball Recipe at Home

First pick up all these ingredients at the store.

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded triple cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup real bacon bits
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup sliced scallions
  • 2 tbsp milk (of your choice)
  • 2 tsp everything bagel seasoning
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black crushed pepper, to taste

If you cream cheese isn’t room temp you’ll probably need to soften it a bit in the microwave. Make sure you cover it because it will make a mess and work in very small increments. Heating 10 seconds at a time until it softens.

Then, in a medium-size bowl add the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, all the irresistable seasonings, and a bit of milk. Mix with a hand mixer, until well combined.

Next step: If you are making your own bacon bits it’s time to dice those up very small. Also slice the onion greens very small. If you got the bagged real bacon bits you can skip that part.

Then add half of the bacon bits and half of the scallions to the cheese mixture.

Either chop finely or crush the pecans in a morter. Then add half of the pecans. as well. Mix everything together very well.

Put a piece of saran wrap on the counter and put the cheese ball in it. Then fully wrap it up with the saran wrap and form it into a ball.

Put the cheeseball in the fridge for 20 minutes.

To finish off this recipe, in a shallow bowl add the remaining chopped pecans, bacon bits and scallions.

Remove cheeseball from the fridge.

Roll the cheeseball around in the prepared shallow bowl and make sure the whole ball is coated with the remaining coating.

Serve with crackers, or anything else of your choice like veggie slices.
