Strawberry Toddler Muffins: A Snack or Meal Filled with Goodness

Designed with tiny tummies in mind, these strawberry mini muffins are made with whole wheat flour, rolled oats, honey, and are bursting with fresh strawberries. If you want to make this recipe for a baby just swap out the honey for real maple syrup, they still turn out great!

These strawberry muffins for toddlers can be a delicious snack or make a perfect breakfast. Really, they’re great to eat any time of day! They are only naturally sweetened with honey (use raw unfiltered honey for ultimate health benefits) and fresh strawberries.

You can also make this recipe with frozen strawberries if you must but I find the texture is much better with fresh strawberries if they are available. If they aren’t, just know the frozen strawberries kind of blend into the batter more and you’ll end up with a more pink muffin. Which is kind of fun too.

These muffins for toddlers offer complex carbohydrates for sustained energy, a touch of protein, wholesome fats, and the natural sweetness that every child craves.

Plus a huge bonus is they are FAST and EASY to make. So many healthy toddler recipes I see are complicated and time consuming. These are not, they can be prepped and cooked in 45 minutes and everyone in the family will love them!

What makes these muffins perfect for toddlers, including those who have started baby-led weaning, is their size. They are just right for small hands to hold and munch on. Plus, they come with the added bonus of supporting self-feeding, and encouraging independence and fine motor skills from a young age.

Why These Strawberry Toddler Muffins are the Best

These homemade muffins contain only natural sugars from honey, making them a smart choice compared to store-bought snacks that are often loaded with refined sugars. It’s important to remember, however, not to serve honey to children under one-year-old due to the risk of infant botulism.

The addition of diced strawberries not only adds a pop of color and a tangy sweetness but also provides vitamins and antioxidants that are essential for a toddler’s healthy diet.
